Columbaria for Faculty & Staff

In September of 2022, a new columbarium on the cemetery grounds was dedicated under the patronage of St. Joseph the Worker. This was followed in 2025 by another, named St. Mary of Bethany. In 2026, we added St. Martha and St. Lazarus.

These columbaria offer affordable internment options for Notre Dame faculty, staff, and eligible retirees. It is another step in the cemetery's history of ministry to the Notre Dame family.

In the St. Joseph the Worker columbarium, urns are placed in a common column in the center of the structure and memorialized on the statue pedestal. In the St. Mary, St. Martha, and St. Lazarus colubaria, there are spaces that are dedicated to either single or companion placement of urns.
