St. Joseph Columbarium

In September of 2022, a new columbarium on the cemetery grounds was dedicated under the patronage of St. Joseph the Worker. It offers affordable internment options for Notre Dame faculty, staff, and eligible retirees. It is another step in the cemetery's history of ministry to the Notre Dame family.

Located conveniently by the parking next to the cemetery office, the columbarium is easily accessible to visitors. Campus is visible across Holy Cross Drive to the north of the columbarium.

Faculty, staff, and eligible retirees may purchase niches around the exterior of the columbarium or choose to have their ashes placed in a common column in the center of the structure. These spaces are available now by contacting Cedar Grove Cemetery at (574) 631-5660 or cemetery@nd.edu.
